For many of our models, it is possible to order a bicycle carrier (lowerable/non-lowerable) already from the factory. Please note the following points:
- When loading the bike carrier, pay attention to the permissible axle loads and the technically permissible total mass.
- A total width of 2.55 m must not be exceeded.
- Bicycles must not protrude beyond the maximum width of the vehicle.
- Adjust the fastenings for the bicycles accordingly.
- Only load the bicycle carrier with bicycles (max. 3 bicycles).
- Check the fastening of the bicycles on the bicycle carrier after the first 10 km of driving and then every time you stop.
- The maximum load capacity is 60 kg.
- The license plate and rear lights must not be covered.
- Journeys with the bike carrier unfolded without bicycles are not permitted.
- Fold up and secure the unloaded bike carrier before riding.
Check before each journey:
- Is the bike carrier properly folded in without bikes?
- Are the bikes securely fastened to the bike carrier with the bike carrier straps?
- Is the bike carrier locked in place?
- Place the lighter bikes in the middle or on the outside of the bike carrier.
- Secure the front wheel and the rear wheel of each bike with the straps attached to the bike carrier.
- In addition, depending on the model of the bike carrier, attach the outer bike to the retaining bracket or retaining arm or with the spacer.
- Crank the adjustable bike carrier upwards again.
- If the bike carrier is only loaded with one bike, place the bike as close as possible to the rear wall.
Further information can be found in the manufacturer's separate operating instructions.
Tip:
Observe the center of gravity when loading the bike carrier. The center of gravity of the bicycles should be very close to the rear wall of the vehicle. Always load the bike carrier from the inside to the outside. Depending on the model, fold the bike carrier down, pull it out or lower it using the crank handle (located in the rear garage). Place the heaviest bike directly against the rear wall.
