The Alde heating system consists of a gas-fired vehicle heater and convectors. The system provides heat to the convectors by circulating a glycol liquid that is heated by gas and/or electricity in the heater. The heating system consists of the boiler system and an expansion tank installed at the highest point in the vehicle. The position of the expansion tank can be found in the instruction manual of the vehicle.
The heating system circulates the hot glycol liquid through pipes and heat convectors, similar to the "heating systems" used in many houses. The system is equipped with a 12 volt electric circulating pump to circulate the heated liquid. By means of the heat convectors near the vehicle floor heated by the hot liquid in the system, the air is heated; the air rises and circulates to warm the interior of the vehicle.
The heating system has an additional hot water boiler with a volume of approx. 8.4 litres of fresh water.
