A piping refers to the reinforced edge of a cloth/canvas. A piping strip – also called piping rail or piping profile – is used to thread this piping into it. A piping strip is fitted as standard to most caravans, but can also be retrofitted or even modified. The piping is mainly used to pull in an awning. The piping strip is usually only on the door side (right).
