Hinged windows are installed in the vast majority of motorhomes and caravans.
The advantage: They can be opened wide at warm temperatures and after cooking. Hinged windows offer a higher ventilation cross-section compared to sliding windows and are usually also significantly cheaper. Many hinged windows are equipped with integrated combined roller blinds with mosquito net and blackout blind. The best-known manufacturers are Dometic-Seitz and Polyplastic.
In the 1990s, Seitz (now Dometic-Seitz) presented complete windows for leisure vehicles with pre-assembled double acrylic glass panes and integrated blackout and insect screens, the so-called frame windows. They are available as hinged and sliding windows. They come in numerous sizes.
